Jan`s River Restaurant in Shreveport

Absolutely love eating here. My wife took me years ago when we first married her grandparents took her all the time when she was a kid. I wasnt a big fan of seafood til I ate here.

Food tasted ok but would have been if it was hot ! The service was good ! Prices was high

We visited Jan's on their second day serving lunch. I had the grilled chicken salad, and it was delicious! The serving was big enough to finish for dinner. Grilled chicken was flavorful and a little crispy. Yum!

Great food and service! Had the all-u-eat mixed catfish and it was great. Some of the best handbreaded onion rings ever!

I don't get to go here often because I don't live near it anymore, but I can always count on their friendly staff, hot fresh food, and definitely a fun southern atmosphere. The corn nugget things are my favorite appetizer and the catfish is amazing. I'm very picky about my fish because too often places don't bake/fry/blacken it long enough or it has an overpowering fish smell, but they get it right every single time!

Pieces of fish are large and cooked to perfection. Prices are extremely reasonable. Service is good. Best fish in Shreveport bossier area.

Service was great! Food was delicious and hot off the stove😄. Will definitely go back. I had fried oysters and hubby had fried catfish. By the way. Cole slaw and hush puppies were exceptional. Highly recommend for family and friends.

We were just passing through on a road trip. If you want good fried catfish this is a great choice. Coleslaw, beans, hush puppies, and onion rings were also too notch. It would be difficult to leave this place hungry.

Service is usually pretty good. Food is usually great as well. I have had a couple of mishaps over the years. I have been going to Jan's as long as I can remember. They do make great steaks and crispy fish. Their coleslaw is my favorite. Jan's will continue to be a family favorite.

We had a Church class party the 10th of December. I could only eat around the edges because the fish was not dun in the middle. My wife told me first that her fish wasn't dun. After the meal I noticed that no one had not finished eating their fish. I over heard two other people saying their fish was raw.

Little pricey but well worth it

The hostess was rude, she cut me off in the middle of talking. Our waitress was very sweet but busy. Personally not worth my gas money to drive down there. My soda was flat. I got grilled chicken. I ate half the grilled chicken but when I got home the other side was pink!!! My soda was flat. That was my first and last time EVER going there!!!

Hands down the best executed fried pickles I’ve ever eaten! They were crispy and the ranch was on point! I little salty but I could handle it. Fish reminded of my childhood. And I loved it.

You can tell by the parking lot this place is popular. We stopped in for dinner on our way from Texas to South Carolina. The restaurant is large on the inside and easily accommodated our group of 6 without having to wait. The food was delicious. They bring a bunch of sides to the table right off the bat including bean soup, coleslaw, and hush puppies. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Got my fish fix tonight at Jan's. It was delicious!

Great place! We stopped here on our way from Dallas to Jackson. Wasn't really sure what to expect because it looked to be in the middle of nowhere, but the staff were friendly and the food was good.

Had a cheese burger, fries 1 piece of fish, bean soup, tomato relish and coleslaw. The food was really good! I loved how the coleslaw was served family style. This made you interact with the people at your table. Had a great time!!! Thanks Ms Jan!!!

Fried food doesn't have grilled shrimp and you can't even get a salad.

Good fish. Beware the hush puppies, they have jalapeno in them. Service was quick. Nice employees. Clean restaurant and bathroom. Employees tried to see if anyone had a benadryl.

Nice family restaurant...the servers are nice and the food is good. The prices are not bad either. They bring beans, cold slaw, chow chow (tomato relish), and hush puppies to the table with each meal.
